Wordpress 2.5 Now Available
Wordpress 2.5 RC2 Wordpress 2.5 is released, download it now and upload Lenky Plugin v1.0.7 beta to it and enjoy!

I am also working on the new version of lenky plugin, the new version will have more features, check this post for more info about the new features.

More Features Are On The Way

We are working on adding more features and fixing some issues that was reported by our users.

Here’s what we are working on now:

  • Ability to show/hide lenky related results from a certain post
  • Removing the “blank” attribute from showed links to leave it to user to choose between opening it on a new window or on the same window.
  • All images and javascript files will be included with the plugin to make the page load faster.
  • Fixing the validation issue so that bloggers have lenky plugin installed will not get HTML validation errors because of the plugin.
  • The plugin will not show errors in your blog in case of a connection problem between your blog and lenky.
  • Making the trackig code more accurate so it will not miss any hit come to your website from lenky.

Most of this list has been finished already and we are testing before releasing it.

Here’s a screen shot of how you will be able to SHOW/HIDE lenky results in certain posts from lenky plugin options page.

And as you know lenky is still in beta so if you have any suggestions or ideas, they are welcomed and really appreciated.

How to Get Your Page Rank Back In Less Than A Week

I read an interesting post about a blogger who lost his blog page rank, his blog page rank becomes zero after it was 4/10, this is because he had paid links in his blog that are seen by search engines ( as paid links in your pages shouldn’t be visible to search engines, and this can be done either by showing that links using javascript or adding the “no follow” attribute to that links ).

here’s a quote from the original post:

The latest page rank update of Google left Blogging Mix with a BIG FAT ZERO PR. Certainly, doing sponsored reviews and selling my page rank were the main reasons behind Google’s action. From a page rank of 4, Google warned me by down grading my page rank to 3. But I ignored Google so eventually they resorted to taking my page rank away. I tried convincing myself that Page Rank is irrelevant but after experiencing the effects of losing it, I’m now more than convinced that Page Rank is important.

he sent to Google to inform them that he added “no follow” attribute to all his sponsors links and then he got his page rank back.

Lenky Plugin Statistics

It is a month since we launched lenky related links plugin, and i am happy as we achieved more than we expected in one month and this is because you trusted us, so i want to THANK all bloggers who installed lenky plugin on their blogs.

Lenky Plugin Stats in the first month, from 5/2/2008 to 5/3/2008 :

Number of posts processed by lenky : 39,871

Number of related results showed by lenky : 120,495

And we will offer live stats about lenky plugin soon.

I want also to say SORRY for all users that didn’t get lenky plugin working on their websites.

Lenky Problem

We faced serious problems in the last two days, and we fixed most of that problems, the plugin should work now properly, if it is not working fine on your blog  please inform us using the feedback form.

New Users: Don’t Worry if you didn’t find related results @ the bottom of your posts as this is because of this problem, and related results will be shown when the problem get fixed.

New Version 1.0.7 beta

A new version is released : (1.0.7) beta

In this new version of lenky related links plugin we added :

An Options Page “Lenky Plugin Options” Page (Options >> Lenky Plugin Options)

This Options page allow you to choose where the related links should show up, the defaults are to show the related results at Individual blog posts and in pages.

Showing related results at the home page of the blog caused problems for some users, and makes home page work a bit slower.

The other thing you can configure using this options page is to edit the “Related Links to this post:” as we found that some bloggers who installed lenky plugin changed it ( from the source code of the plugin ) so i think it is easier to edit it using the options page.

We are now working on adding the stats to lenky admin page( how many links of your blog posts are shown in other blogs using lenky, and how many hits you got through lenky, ……. etc. ) , also in the next release you will have an option of removing related links from certain posts ( for example : posts with personal information ) .

We are also working on improving or system to drive more relevant links than before.

Another thing is “Digg us, or write a post about lenky plugin” , the more users we will get the more links, and hits you will get from us.
